Artist's Description
This piece was a study of painting with oil and a palette knife. I try to use up my somewhat dry paint from a previous painting on something new, so as not to waste my paint. This is a piece designed to practice with my palette knives. I used my smaller knives to paint this piece, except for the sky, which was painted with a very large palette knife to cover as much canvas as possible. I used a very limited palette of ultramarine blue, medium yellow, burnt sienna, burnt umber and white. I hope you enjoy my study of trees and palette knives.
